Q: Do you run MVRs?
A: Yes, MVRs are run for drivers with a primary residence in California, Florida, Maine, or Minnesota, with a 5-year look back period. Note: MVRs are based on the insured's primary residence state, not the covered driver's license state.
Q: Will there be any changes to the platform?
A: When adding a covered driver in the states listed above, you'll be prompted to enter their driver's license number and acknowledge the MVR Disclosure & Authorization.
Q: What is the MVR Disclosure & Authorization?
A: This is the disclosure you acknowledge when adding a covered driver, authorizing Monoline to obtain the driver's MVR for underwriting purposes.
Q: Does Monoline write drivers with international licenses?
A: It depends on the primary residence state. In most states, we will write drivers with international licenses as long as they're legally able to drive in the US and get auto insurance. Drivers with a primary residence in CA, FL, ME, or MN are not eligible, as MVRs require a U.S.-issued license number.
