Yes, we provide coverage for these vehicles under our umbrella policy. However, coverage classification depends on whether the unit is drivable or non-drivable.
Coverage Classification:
Drivable Vehicles Drivable campers & motorhomes are classified as "Autos" for umbrella purposes. This includes:
Motorhomes (Class A, B, and C RVs)
Any self-propelled motorized land vehicle that requires motor vehicle registration and/or operator licensing
These units should be included in the personal auto count when submitting for umbrella consideration.
Non-drivable campers are classified as below and do not typically need to be included in the auto count as they should extend from the underlying auto policy.
Pull-behind travel trailers
Fifth wheels
Other attached trailers
Underlying Insurance Requirements
To qualify for umbrella coverage, the primary insurer must meet the following requirements:
Minimum Liability Limits:
$300,000 Combined Single Limit (CSL), or
$250,000/$500,000/$100,000 split limits
Carrier Requirements:
Primary insurer must be an admitted carrier
A.M. Best Rating of B+ (VII) or higher
