Privacy, Data Protection & Accessing Reports

Q: I'd like to receive a copy of my MVR report. How can I get one?

A: For privacy and compliance reasons, Monoline is unable to provide a copy of the DMV motor vehicle record directly to you or your insurance agent. To obtain your official record, you have two primary options:

  1. From the State: Contact your state's DMV directly to request an official transcript.

  2. From the Reporting Agency: You may request a file disclosure from our Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) partner, SambaSafety. SambaSafety's contact information is listed on your Notice of Adverse Action. You can also navigate to SambaSafety's Compliance Page to find instructions on how to request a copy of the information they have on file regarding your driving history.

Q: When would I receive a Notice of Adverse Action?

A: You will receive a Notice of Adverse Action if information from your motor vehicle record is used in a decision to decline your application, cancel your policy, or results in less favorable terms (such as higher premium or reduced coverage). The notice will explain what information was used and how to obtain a copy of your MVR.

Q: What if I believe there's an error on my MVR?

A: If you believe information on your motor vehicle record is inaccurate, you have the right to dispute it directly with your state DMV or through SambaSafety's dispute process. Monoline will update your policy based on corrected information once the dispute is resolved.

Q: How do you protect the privacy of the information collected from my driving record?

A: We maintain strict physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information. Information obtained from consumer reporting agencies is used solely for underwriting and servicing your policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
