Does Monoline Cover Private Aircraft?

Updated today

No. Private aircraft are ineligible for coverage under a Monoline personal umbrella policy.

That said, owning a private aircraft does not automatically disqualify your client from obtaining a Monoline policy. If the client has other eligible exposures, such as a qualifying primary residence or vehicles, you can still bind a Monoline umbrella by excluding the aircraft from the application.

What This Means for Your Client

  • Aircraft ownership: Not a disqualifier. Your client can still be eligible for a Monoline umbrella policy.

  • Aircraft coverage: Not available. The aircraft and any related liability cannot be included in the policy.

If your client needs liability coverage for their aircraft, they will need to obtain a separate aviation insurance policy.
